Our Mission
Our Mission is to empower individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to live meaningful and fulfilling lives across their lifespan. We achieve this by sharing scientific knowledge, providing direct mentoring. and advocating for the well-being and inclusion of ASD Individuals and their families.

BOAD OF DIRECTORS
Dr. Ying Wu
Cofounder | Board Director
Dr. Wu earned her PhD in Psychology from a well-recognized university in the United States in 2004. With over 30 years of experience studying the brain through multimodal approaches, she brings extensive professional expertise as well as deep personal insight to her leadership.
As a dedicated and proud mother of a youth with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and intellectual disability (ID), Dr. Wu has developed a profound appreciation for the unique strengths and potential of every autistic individual. Her lived experience has strengthened her belief that, with the right supports and inclusive environments, autistic individuals can thrive and make meaningful contributions to their communities.
Dr. Wu is deeply passionate about understanding, supporting, and advocating for the ASD community, with a particular focus on serving Chinese families. For more than a decade, she has supported new immigrant families in overcoming language and cultural barriers while navigating education, health, and disability support systems.
In recognition of her leadership and expertise, Dr. Wu was appointed by the Government of Alberta in 2022 to serve on the Provincial Parent Advisory Committee (PPAC) for Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD). In 2023, she was selected as a Peer Mentor and Family Advisor for the Family-to-Family Connections Program at Alberta Children’s Hospital and joined the Board of Directors of Janus Academy, a private school serving students with ASD. In 2025, Dr. Wu further expanded her impact at the national level through her appointment to the Board of Directors of the National Autism Network in Canada.
Dr. Shining Shang
Cofounder | Board Director
Dr. Shang holds a PhD degree in Mathematics from a prestigious Canadian university and bring over 20 years of experience in education, working with learners from preschool to university. She is deeply committed to promoting equal education rights from children with special needs through her work in the public sector. As the mother of a son with multiple disabilities, including Autism, ADHD, and Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Dr. Shang brings personal insight into advocating for inclusive learning environments.
In addition to her professional work, she volunteers as an officer with the Navy League, and actively participates in local charity organizations, further demonstrating her dedication to community service and support for those in need. Dr. Shang’s dedication to both her son and her profession makes her a beacon of hope for families navigating the challenges of special education, and her advocacy continues to have a lasting impact on creating a more inclusive and understanding educational landscape.
Ms. Li Xu
Cofounder | Board Director
Ms. Li is an IT professional. She is a devoted mother to a daughter with ASD, ADHD, and hypotonia. To support her daughter’s development, Li has rigorously studied various scientifically approved intervention methods and worked to understand her daughter’s cognitive processes for optimal support. As an advocate for inclusion, Li is passionate about ensuring every child has the right to attend school, grow alongside their peers, and fully participate in society. She works closely with intervention teams and school staff to create a supportive environment for her daughter’s inclusive education and beyond.
Ms. Sarah Cai
Senior Counsel, LA, CA
AS the mother of a child with typical autism, Ms. Cai pays special attention to the social environment of individuals with Autism. To promote a more socially engaged life for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Ms. Cai focuses on encouraging their participation in various social activities. She believes that increased social involvement can significantly enhance their quality of life, improve their interpersonal skills, and help them fulfil their potential
Ms. Leanne Xie
Cofounder | Board Director
Ms. Xie holds a master of social work degree from the university of Calgary. As a dedicated mother of an autistic son, she is knowledgeable in the resource of social services and social system especially in adulthood support. She has a passion to explore autistic individuals’ potentials and support them having a meaningful life. She likes singing, dancing and playing piano. She encourages each special needs family to look after own wellbeing as well.
Mr. Hubert Liu
Cofounder | Board Director
Mr. Liu holds a master of mechanical engineering degree from the university of Calgary and is a dedicated professional engineer and passionate advocate for individuals with autism. As a father of a child with autism, Mr. Liu has the first hand experience of the unique challenge and incredible potential that these individuals possess. Through his own experience, Mr. Liu focus on promoting social engagement, life skills training, and emotion regulation to help children with autism thrive in their daily lives. He is firm believer that every child with autism is unique and has the potential to excel in various fields and everyone with autism should receives equal opportunities for education, training, and employment. He believes that with mor inclusive and supportive communities, every autistic individual will have a quality of life and achieve their full potential.
